Energy Assessor Accredition Schemes

To be an energy assessor and produce energy certificates and air conditioning inspections for Green house every assessor needs to belong to an accreditation scheme as well as having the appropriate qualifications or experience and learning. Each assessor will also be monitored by Green house and will comply with our code of conduct.

The accreditation schemes, appointed by government, control the quality of energy assessments, DECs and advisory reports, and air conditioning inspections by ensuring energy assessors are competent and have the appropriate skills to conduct assessments.

To become a member of an accreditation scheme, energy assessors need to:

  1. Show they have a recognised qualification from an awarding body or approved prior experience and learning equivalent to the National Occupational Standard requirements
  2. Maintain appropriate professional indemnity cover
  3. Update their skills and knowledge regularly
  4. Take part in the accreditation body's quality assurance procedures
  5. Abide by the scheme's advice and guidance
