Power can be captured from the sun to generate energy for your property. This can be done by installing photovoltaic (PV) panels on the roof, converting light into energy.
The science..
Solar PV panels have a thin layer of semi-conducting material sandwiched between glass to protect it. When light hits the panel, electrons flow through the material and generate a direct current. This passes through an inverter, and is converted into alternating current, which can be used by you in your home.

The panel can come in a varied range of sizes to fit any roof. A standard size panel is around 1m x 1.5m
The PV system is attached to your existing mains electricity. Any energy you need is supplied first, and then any surplus energy is fed back into the National Grid. This means that you can earn from all energy produced from your solar panels whether you use the energy or pass it all back to the national grid. This payment is made via the Feed in Tariff scheme.
Enabling the energy to pass into the grid only requires an additional meter and is organised by your installer - there is nothing complicated involved, just an extra meter. Very little maintenance is required to a solar PV system. Due to the tilt of the panels on your roof, the rain keeps them dirt free and many of the panels are self cleaning. We a full range of panels to suit all customers needs.
Can my roof have panels attached to it?
In your free consultation, our solar surveyors will be able to advise on what system would suit you and what would fit on your roof to ensure the very best return on your investment. Click here to book an appointment with a local solar surveyor.
Do I have the capital to Invest?
The full cost is around £4,500 - £10,000 dependent on the size of your domestic system. Commercial system can cost up to £100,000 for a 50KW system, but this depends on many factors and we certainly suggest a full consultation with our solar surveyors to gain further understanding.
This investment will reduce your energy costs immediately, and will earn you between 7-10% per annum on every penny you invest with 4agreenhouse.com.
Planning permission
Most domestic solar power installations do not require planning permission, although in conservation areas the local planners usually prefer solar panels to be erected at the back of the property rather than facing the street.
Commercial systems do require full planning consent and so do systems that are mounted within the grounds of a property. Again a full consultation with our local solar surveyor will answer all questions you may have and it is FREE. Click here to book an appointment.

Why Invest in Solar?
The energy challenge for future generations is huge and yet it's the older generation that have the capital to invest in helping create a low carbon future. This is why the Feed In Tariff was created to encourage spending on a product that keeps giving back in more ways than one. It provides the purchaser of solar power with reduced bills and a stable, government backed 7-10% return on investment each year. It also creates jobs to stimulate the economy while tackling the very important energy demands for our growing population.
To Help the Environment
It Needs Little Maintenance
As a Great Source of Investment
To Immediately Reduce your Energy Bills
Protect yourself against future rises by energy companies.
To Increase the value of your Home or at the very least make it more desirable than other houses in the area as you will sell your home with a cash gift from the government and lower energy bills.
The UK government launched a Feed-in Tariffs scheme to encourage home owners to create their own energy
The Feed-in Tariff (FIT) pays you for any electricity that you produce, whether this is used by your self or is fed back into the grid
The amount you are paid depends on the size of the system you have installed. The payments you receive are index linked, and guaranteed by the government.
A typical household, such as a 3 bedroom house, would require a 2.0 kW PV solar system.
This system would on average earn you the below*:
|
£ per year |
|
|
Income from Feed-In Generation |
£ 360.53 |
|
Export Tariff |
£ 25.75 |
|
Reduction in Your Bills |
£ 103 |
|
Total Return Per Year |
£ 489.29 |
